Many companies have summarized the differences between chain electric hoists and wire rope hoists, mostly analyzing their size, operating distance, accuracy, and modification. However, the difference between the chain/wire rope electric hoist is more than that.
The difference in anti-sloping ability between chain electric hoists and wire rope electric hoists
Strictly speaking, electric hoists cannot be dragged at an oblique angle during use, but it is inevitable in operation.
The connection between the wire rope electric hoist and the running trolley is rigid. In the case of excessive oblique tension, it is easy to cause damage to the wire rope guide. If the device cannot be shut down in time, it may also cause the motor to rupture and damage the entire wire rope electric hoist. Generally, the product manual of the wire rope electric hoist will stipulate that the wire rope guide should be imported within the range of 3.5 degrees at an angle.
The difference in winding devices between chain electric hoists and wire rope electric hoists
The winding device of the lifting electric wire rope hoist is the wire rope, which is rigid and is prone to groove phenomenon under no load. It is more prone to random rope problems when lifting small weights or transporting heavy objects to the support. In exchange, the hoist winding device is a chain, and the winding mode is hinged, which has no rigidity and will not cause random rope phenomenon.
The mechanical principle of chain electric hoist and wire rope electric hoist
The wire rope is subjected to tensile force on one side and compressive force on the other side during the lifting process of the wire rope electric hoist. In order to avoid repeatedly folding and weakening the performance of the wire rope, and to ensure its service life, the direction in which the wire rope is wound on the reel and the rope wheel must be consistent, so that the side that bears the compressive force is always under pressure.
The wire rope crane hoist does not need to consider this issue. The winding direction of the chain on the sprocket can be set arbitrarily, and the flexibility is high. Moreover, the structure is reasonable, which is also one of the reasons why the chain electric hoist has a small overall size.
The service life of chain electric hoist and wire rope electric hoist
The wire rope configured for the wire rope electric hoist is often relatively thin, and the equipment itself may work in extreme environmental conditions, such as humid, acid mist, alkali mist, and high-temperature conditions. The thin wire rope is prone to breakage, which can easily cause accidents.
The chain section of the chain electric hoist is relatively large, and its core material is often selected as a high-temperature-resistant and oxidation-resistant type, which is not easy to produce significant changes in harsh environments.
Under the same specification conditions, chain electric hoists have advantages in lifting height, operating distance, positioning, etc. At the same time, they are easy to modify, have long service life, small potential risks, and are more suitable for harsh weather.
In comparison, the chain electric hoist has more advantages, but the wire rope electric hoist also has its unique characteristics, advantages, and scope of use. Therefore, customers can choose according to their own actual situation.
